Ghost Towns - Jerome, Arizona

Ghost Towns - Jerome, Arizona.jpgRecapturing the spirit of the Old West

Arizona is also a great place if you want to have a summer vacation recapturing the spirit of the Old West. You can visit dude ranches that offer horseback adventure trips in various lengths, cookouts and trail rides. This is the best place for you to experience a taste of what life on the range is.

There are also many Ghost Towns in the state, the most famous of which is the town of Jerome. This is once the home of nearly 3,000 people but according to the 2006 Census Bureau, the population of the town is approximately 343. It is now considered as a State Historic Park exhibiting original nineteenth century buildings, which are still standing up to the present.

Interesting question since there are a number of fabulous communities in Arizona that are safe, it really depends on what you are wanting to do.

According to the City Crime Ranking Report put out in 2007 SURPRISE, AZ was the safest city in Arizona, but unless you are going to go to areas that you wouldn’t probably visit in any large city, Arizona is a great place to visit, in almost any town.
