Phoenix Zoo – Phoenix, Arizona
The Phoenix Zoo covers 125 acres in total with approximately 2.5 miles of walking trails. There are 4 different trails such as the Africa trail, the Tropics, The Arizona and the Children’s trails. There are approximately 1,200 animals on exhibit with everything from mammals, fish, invertebrates, birds and the fascinating reptiles.
You are not allowed to bring your pets with you to the zoo, and no, they don’t take pets as donated animals to the zoo. You can bring your roller blades or bike to use while at the zoo, just be careful of the other people. Picnics are encouraged, take the time to enjoy the day with your family and pack a picnic to enjoy at one of the zoo areas. You can not bring alcohol, glass, balloons, balls, Frisbees, radios, whistles, skateboards, scooters, firearms, weapons, knives, toy weapons and there are to be NO BARE FEET. Of course, smoking is prohibited at the zoo.
The zoo holds special events on a regular basis for the enjoyment of those visiting the zoo so check with them to see what is happening when you plan to attend.
Hours: June 1 – September 30 7 am – 2 pm weekdays and 7 am – 4 pm on weekends. Spring: January – May 31 9 am – 5 pm; Fall: October 1 – November 5 9 am – 5; Moonlight Season (Day time) November 6 – January 11 9 am – 4 pm. These dates may change from year to year so check with the zoo if you have questions.
Admission: Adults (13 – 59) $14; Seniors (60 +) $9; Children (3 – 12) $6 and Ages 2 and under FREE.
