Rawhide Western Town & Steakhouse at Wild Horse Pass – Chandler, Arizona

Situated in the Gila River Indian Community Rawhide is a western frontier town welcoming you to come and share some adventure.  The town of Rawhide has a wonderful history of the Native American tribes that lived in the area long before the settlers came west.  It was due to the kindness of the Indians to one traveler from Savannah, GA that the community got it’s name and became, in fact, a town.  With the arrival of different people that were necessary to make the community survive the town grew and remains in touch with its history today. Some of the business people in the community are direct decedents of those that established the town in the first place.  While you are touring the town you may find those decedents that will be willing to share the story of how the town was settled while visiting with you.

There are a number of attractions for you to enjoy such as the Widowmaker (Mechanical Bull).  If you have always wondered what it would be like to ride one of these things then here is your opportunity.  There is the Desert Train Ride which will take you on the outskirts of Rawhide’s Main Street.  The replica Butterfield Stagecoach will give you a ride that shows you the majestic Sonora Desert the way the settlers did.  Try Gold Panning, or try rock climbing at Deadman’s Drop.  You will be entertained by the Six Gun Theater and Rawhide Roughriders at the stunt show where you will witness gunfights, explosions, daring falls, and all the antics of the cowboy characters.  There is the Spirit of the West Theater showing various western acts such as trick roping, whips, gun twirling, magic and illusion to name a few of them.  You can witness many different shows throughout the day.

Are you thinking it would be fun to see a family member of a friend arrested?  Well, you can have the trusty ol’ Sheriff do just that and throw them behind bars.  The arrested have to hear their charges and plead the case, if you want to keep them as family or friends you may want to make sure they get out!!

There is a Shootin’ Gallery for you to test your skills with a rifle or maybe you want to witness a Shotgun Wedding.  You can surprise your loved one with a Shotgun Wedding in the Rawhide Town Jail.  This is a fun way to show your family and the entire town just how much you care for that special person in your life.  You will even get a wedding certificate if you want as well as photos (for an additional fee).

The community provides slapstick comedy and dramatic showdowns that will take you by surprise and make you glad you were there!
If you are a card player you will enjoy the demonstrations of the card shark shows that are at the Steakhouse Saloon with Dick Casey.
