Sharlot Hall Museum – Prescott, Arizona

Sharlot Museum.jpgSharlot Hall MuseumPrescott, Arizona

This museum was founded by historian and poet, Sharlot M. Hall, for the purpose of providing educational adventures in human and natural history to those that enter.

There is a Library and Archives that has items that will interest anyone with interest in the Prescott area.  There is a Rare Book Room which has unique volumes for you to explore.  The materials in the Library and Archives are always available to researchers; local, out of town, professional, amateur, and academic.  The items available are archaeological, cultural, and historical materials related to Yavapai County and Northern Arizona.  There is a vast collection of rare books, manuscripts, diaries, personal papers, organizational papers, maps, photographs, oral histories, archaeological reports, local and state governmental records, and genealogical materials for your review.

The museum explores the regional diversity of the people of the area through festivals, living history presentations and theater performances.  The exhibits are also changed to keep things interesting regardless of how often you visit.

There are opportunities for you to do some archaeology field work at the Walnut Creek Archaeology Field School which is located 40 miles north of Prescott.

You can also step back in time by visiting with living history interpreters in the Pioneer Living Area and the Frontier Trades Building.

I see where you are located, however would appreciate some information on where the best place to park would be for a radiation workshop being held in the museum at Sharlot Hall July 3lst from 9:00 a.m. – ll.00 a.m. I would appreciate your help as I am unable to walk for very long periods of time. Oh, and also exactly where do I go in to get to the library

    Thank you for your assistance,
    Sharon Schmidt
