Rattlesnake Bridge and other neat stuff – Tucson, Arizona

Are you looking for the worlds largest rattlesnake?  If so you will find it in Tucson, cleverly disguised as a pedestrian bridge over Broadway Road.  Its eyes light up and the tail rattles whenever someone walks across.  This bridge is 280 feet long and looks like a diamondback rattlesnake with the mouth as one entrance and the tail at the other.  The bridge was completed in 2002 and has been a treat for the citizens of the community ever since.

You can also see some great art when you are driving around the city and see the approximatley 140 murals on th exteriors of restaurants, schools and shopping centers as well as the tile work on the freeway retaining walls.

In the midst of the desert there is an oasis waiting for you at Tohona Chul Park in northeast Tucson.  There 49 acres of beautiful gardens, trails, art galleries in a restored adobe hacienda, a tearoom, a greenhouse, and gift shops that all wait for your visit.  You can take a guided tour or just wander around by yourself, you can take a break for tea or watch the birds flying around.  It’s a wonderful break from the normal hectic pace whether you are a Tucson resident or a person on an Arizona vacation.
