Yuma Birding & Nature Festival – Yuma, Arizona
The annual Yuma Birding and Nature Festival celebrates the rich diversity of birds and wildlife along the lower Colorado River in the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area. There are seminars to explain what you are going to see, learn new and exciting things about nature from the lectures and take field trips to actually see the birds and wildlife in Southwest Arizona. There are tours along the Colorado River, hiking excursions through local area wildlife refuges and a day excursion into Mexico.
There is a Birding Art Contest to allow you , at no cost, to show your paintings or drawings of birds to the judges for a chance to win the top prize of $250. The works must be on paper or canvas, Drawings and paintings a maximum of 16×20 inches including matting. All pieces must be framed & matted ready for hanging. The artists name, address, telephone, and email must be printed and securely fastened to the back of the piece in the upper right-hand corner. Each entrant is limited to one entry or piece of art. Check with the organizers to get all the details for this contest.
There is a trade show that will take place during the festival so you will have the opportunity to see what is new and learn a few new techniques to try with your artwork.
